Judging in a conversation refers to when you prejudge a person so that you cannot hear them beyond that judgment. If you think your wife is a egomaniac then you will judge everything she says through that judgment.

If you judge that she has some underlying motive, ice; she wants something --money, a new car, etc. Then you will be suspicious every time she compliments you.

Our judgments of ourselves, much less others is fairly correct. There is no reason to judge before the time, listen to what she has to say.
